Sales Engineer

Job Description:

Responsible for assisting the Sales team in all aspects of the sales process including RFI/RFP, meetings, presentations, demonstrations, lab-trials and installations. Sales Engineers support the outside, inside and channel/partner sales teams.

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform product demonstrations for prospective clients
  • Take ownership of POC/ Demos/ Trials from start to finish
  • Assist sales with RFP responses or other technical responses to customer inquiries
  • Conduct SOW development and verification
  • Perform sales material development/review (Data Sheets, PPTs, etc)
  • Manage Monolith's demo environment
  • Teach Monolith's Administration Training classes
  • Provide Sales technical support (Q&A)

Must be a team player, task- and process-oriented, focused, and responsible. Must have good communication skills, take direction well, have a positive pro-active attitude, and commit to driving internal growth.

Skills Required:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent technical experience
  • Good communications skills, both written and verbal. Need to be highly articulate with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experienced at managing and delivering on time against multiple priorities
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of the team in a productive manner
  • Must take direction well with the ability to execute tasks to completion

Strongly Desired:

  • Industry experience with monitoring & management software
    • Fault/event management software
    • Performance management software
  • Experience working with networking equipment (routers, switches, muxes)
  • Development and/or Technical Support Experience with LAMP / Web 2.0 applications, especially as implemented on Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, Perl
  • Vertical industry experience in Financial Services, Telco, Service Provider

Additional Information:

  • Telecommuting is possible as long as deadlines and efficiency/productivity goals are met
  • Office time is expected when working with resources on deals/projects/etc
  • Travel will be expected in this role (est. ~ 25%)

  • The candidate for this position could be located in a major city east of the Mississippi River. Monolith is headquartered in St. Charles, IL
