ITM Core

One of the common problems associated with all of the large management software vendors in the industry is inconsistency in the ways various modules are managed. These companies have grown primarily through acquisition. As such, managing each module is generally a distinct and different process from the other modules offered by the vendor.
Monolith Software was built from the ground up with a consistent architecture, methodology and functional design. All Monolith modules leverage Monolith's ITM Core base. This delivers consistency and easy administration when working with the solution. All of the modules are administered and operated in the same way.
AAA Functionality - Ensuring the Security
Monolith ITM Core provides the key features required by any software solution. First & foremost is AAA functionality. The entire solution set shares a common authentication, authorization and accounting methodology. This is useful for supporting user access to individual modules as well as for MSPs needing to provide secure access to clients in order to see only their devices or interfaces within the system.
Auto-Discovery - Minimizing Maintenance
Many tools on the market do not offer auto-discovery features. This makes management solutions difficult to set up, manage and maintain. Monolith recognized this and built a robust discovery solution into the ITM Core. The ITM Core can discovery networks via ping scans with full wild card support. This delivers discovery granularity allowing organizations to clearly define discovery scope. Seed file support is also included.
After the initial discovery or seeding process is complete Monolith then performs deep discovery. Core ITM leverages CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol), SNMP, LDAP/AD and WMI for deep discovery. This allows the system to .type. the devices for use by Device Catalog.
Device Catalog - a New Concept
A major new enhancement to the Monolith Software solution set was released with version 3.x of the mSuite ITM software. This new capability is called Device Catalog. Device Catalog is unique because it introduces the concept of consolidated device management & administration. All of Monolith's modules leverage this central device repository.
Using Device Catalog you can globally set Device meta data for enrichment, priority levels for key devices, and use the device list for integration points (other modules or 3rd party integrations). Device Catalog also supports nested, non-mutually exclusive grouping which allows modeling of critical application paths.
Broker Technology - Easy Command & Control
Monolith's solution offers substantial improvements in the area of process control. Using the Broker technology administrators can securely remote configure and control processes running throughout the solution. The Broker also supports running remote commands (Requests), performing scheduled jobs (like cron), and maintain daemons (like NT Services) all through a centralized web interface.
