Event Reporter
Organizations use various tools for event management (e.g. Monolith Event Manager, HP Openview, Micromuse, Tivoli). Event management tools are used for real-time capture and response to event data. The question is, where do the events live once they have been cleared, deleted or reaped from the system? Event Reporter is the answer. It provides IT Managers with the ability to understand their IT Infrastructures behavior over varying time periods.
Event Reporter integrates tightly with Monolith Event Manager. Event Reporter receives each event that passes through Monolith Event Manager. Each event is stored as an individual record versus in de-duplicated fashion like many of our competitors. Event Reporter has a purpose built architecture allowing it to massively scale to meet the high volume needs of large enterprises and service provider organizations.
Market Need
Due to regulatory requirements many organizations now have the need to store their event data (especially security based event data) for retention and possible future analysis. Event Reporter can either work with Event Manager or with your existing fault management solution. Event Reporter captures & stores the information once it leaves the fault management system. At that point users of Reporter can either run ad hoc reports for any information existing in the system (e.g. how many isdn up interface events occurred over the past 6 months) or they can run pre-defined reports already built within the system. Additionally, Reporter has the ability to run, publish and distribute reports on a pre-defined basis (e.g. run and distribute Top Events by Node Report daily).
Historical Event Collection
How do you comply with regulations or perform detailed forensics when your existing events management system only stores summarized (de-duped) events? Monolith takes away that limitation by efficiently storing all the individual events that are processed through the solution. No need to compromise or build after market solutions to meet your needs. All this is done at a fraction of the normally required database table size without losing database utility.
